Support Adoption For Pets operate more than 430 Adoption Centres inside Pets at Home stores across the UK where we rehome small pets including rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, rats, degus and chinchillas. Anyone can bring in a small pet they can no longer care for and we will do all we can to give that pet its second chance at happiness, whatever the circumstances. Find out how it works below.
Dogs and Cats
Support Adoption For Pets only rehomes small pets directly. If you are looking to adopt a dog, cat or larger pet - or if you need to rehome your own - please contact your local rescue centres. You can find out more about the rescues in your area by searching on our Rescue Directory or browse pets in need of a home on our Pet Directory.
How to Adopt a pet
If you are looking to add to your furry family, please visit our adoption centres inside Pets at Home stores to meet the small pets in need of a loving forever home. These pets end up in our Adoption Centres through no fault of their own and so we proudly offer them a safe home and a high profile opportunity to find new owners. Last year alone we directly rehomed over 60,000 pets.
During their time with us we provide safe housing, a warm bed, food and care plus any veterinary treatment needed. We look after the pet until a loving home can be found and never put a healthy pet to sleep. Every adoption rabbit comes with free neutering, health check and vaccination vouchers to help new owners on their way. We ask for a small donation to the charity for every adoption.

How to Rehome your pet
There are lots of reasons why a pet has to be rehomed. If for any reason you are no longer able to look after your small pet, please speak to our charity champions in your local Pets at Home store and we will do our best to help you.
Please call or visit the store without the pet first to see if there is a space available in a nearby store. For certain breeds you may have to wait for a space to become available or try another store, so it's important you speak to us before transporting a pet.
Our Support Adoption For Pets Adoption Centres are found inside Pets at Home stores. To find out where your nearest branches are, simply enter your postcode into our Rescue Direrctory.
We will do everything we can to find them a loving new home.
National Charity Adoption Centres
We also support other National animal welfare charities by providing them with a financial contribution to develop stand-alone rehoming centres in Pets at Home stores.
These centres were developed following concerns that people were not aware of the risks in buying a dog or cat from shops, through classified advertisements or via an irresponsible breeder. By having a regular presence in a store, such as Pets at Home, National animal welfare charities are able to meet thousands of potential new owners and talk to them about responsible ownership and the benefits of rehoming.
Since the first centre was established, we have gone on to build a further 5 adoption and advice centres which can be found in the stores mentioned below:
3 RSPCA Centres - Stockport, Friern Barnett, Newport (Wales)
1 Cats Protection Centre - Newbury
1 Blue Cross Centre - Swindon
