Time at the charity
Joined the team Oct 2012
Quick summary of your role
Manage the Charity of the Year initiative which brings together our store and rescues teams with the sole aim of helping and supporting our rescues care for homeless pets within the local community. I also get involved with basic finance tasks and organising payments, working with our Accountant. I tend to respond to the general enquiries, and support the rest of the team when needed.
What do you love most about working at Support Adoption For Pets?
Each day is different, sometimes a little crazy but knowing that every day we, and our Pets at Home colleagues, are supporting local rescues so that they can continue to do the amazing work they do.
What pet do you have at home?
Rescue Springer Spaniel, Max.
What’s your favourite type of pet?
Without question a dog
What is your most memorable rescue experience?
Visiting a rescue who had applied for support with a project that aimed to give peace of mind to those pet owners who were perhaps in hospital, fleeing domestic abuse or temporarily homeless and who had no one else to care for their much loved pets; the rescue cared for these pets on a temporary basis.
What are you most excited for this year at SAFP?
2020 is certainly a strange year which is likely to have an impact for several years to come. Challenges lay ahead and I look forward to seeing what changes they bring.
Where are you most likely to be found in your job?
Most definitely at my desk with a cup of coffee, highly likely eating a biscuit or two and almost certainly complaining about indigestion.
