Ashbourne Animal Welfare, Support Adoption For Pets

Ashbourne Animal Welfare operates The Ark Rescue and Rehoming Centre for unwanted and stray cats and dogs. We provide TLC as well as any necessary veterinary care prior to adoption, we always neuter and we promote responsible pet ownership.

"We are Ashbourne Animal Welfare, a small independent charity based in Derbyshire rescuing and rehoming unwanted and stray cats and dogs, operating from our own rescue and rehoming centre, The Ark.

We applied to Support Adoption For Pets for a grant towards the refurbishment and upgrading of one of our dog kennel blocks and our dog isolation facility.

We are fortunate to have been helped by Support Adoption For Pets in the past and have always have found the process of applying for assistance from them very straightforward and easy to understand. As an organisation, they actively encourage charities to seek out their help as they genuinely want to use their charitable funds to improve and support the animal welfare sector.

We have always found all the team very approachable, friendly and keen to help and advise. It is very clear that the team members are all real animal lovers and enjoy what they do.

We were awarded our grant at the end of October 2014.

The first phase of the project, Dog Isolation, was completed in July 2015 and the remaining refurbishment work is about to start and will be completed over the winter months.

The encouragement and help we receive from Support Adoption For Pets gives us the confidence, as a small charity, to undertake project work without compromising our financial position.

Being awarded grant funding also provides a big boost to the morale of both staff and volunteers"
