Birmingham Dogs' Home, Support Adoption For Pets

It's Birmingham Dogs' Home mission is to rescue, reunite and re-home the lost, abused and abandoned dogs from the streets of the West Midlands and South Staffordshire. Public support is the vital lifeline to their success,

"We applied to Support Adoption For Pets for the £50,000 grant in early 2014, to renovate the kennels at our Sunnyside Centre in Wolverhampton.

We found the whole process easy to understand and put into motion. We simply recorded a short video message at the kennels, of what it was we wanted the grant funding for, and submitted it to Support Adoption for Pets Committee to evaluate. We then got our supporters involved on social media and simply asked that they view the video and "like" it for us if they thought we were worthy of the grant. It was great being able to get supporters on board with this exciting new venture as they felt more involved with the whole process.

The Support Adoption For Pets team were absolutely great all the way through and were at hand for any advice needed. They were fully supportive and everything was explained clearly of what was expected. Everyone has been so lovely and a real pleasure to work with. It was great to be visited by the team and get to meet Trustee, Jill Naylor, in person.

We were absolutely thrilled to be informed that we had been awarded the Grant on July 21, 2014, when Jill revisited us at Sunnyside.

In January 2015, work started on the kennel blocks and was completed by the end of March 2015.

We invited Jill back for her third visit to Sunnyside earlier this year to show her what a difference the grant had made to the lives of our many homeless dogs. It was a pleasure to show her around and to be able to talk to her about the changes that we have seen in the dogs and the positive feedback that we had been receiving from our visitors.

We can’t thank Jill enough for the help that she has given our home and to everyone at Support Adoption For Pets and their fantastic support"
