Fen Bank Greyhound Sanctuary, Support Adoption For Pets

Fen Bank Greyhound Sanctuary is a registered charity dedicated to the protection and re-homing of ex-racing Greyhounds. We are based at Friskney near Skegness in South Lincolnshire, and were established in December 1997.

"The Fen Bank Greyhound Sanctuary became a registered charity during 1998. Our stated aim is the Rescue, Rehabilitation and Rehoming of ex racing greyhounds in need. The sanctuary is situated on the outskirts of the village of Friskney in the Lincolnshire fens.

I received a call from Emily Evans during the Autumn of 2014 to tell me that the Trustees of Support Adoption For Pets had decided to make a grant of £25.000 to us. This was fantastic news and allowed us to proceed with our aspirations to build a new kennel block.

Work got underway and an area of land was cleared at the sanctuary and building commenced. The new block was to have individual kennels each with an outside area. They all had a tiled floor with underfloor heating as well as their own heaters. Also as part of the building was a new food preparation area so that not only the new block but also the other two kennels could be serviced by the new kitchen.

New residents took up their accommodation during June 2015.

None of this success story would have been possible without, not only the very generous financial gift, but also the support and encouragement of the Support Adoption For Pets team. And again on behalf of all at Fen Bank but especially our wonderful greyhounds a very heartfelt “Thank you”

Paul Bryan, Trustee, Fen Bank Greyhound Sanctuary
