Warrington Animal Welfare, Support Adoption For Pets

Warrington Animal Welfare was setup to provide financial support for pet owners on low income or benefits to help them to pay to have their pet's neutered, in a bid to reduce the amount of stray, abandoned and unwanted pets in Warrington.

"In May 2014 we applied for a grant from Support Adoption For Pets for £50,000 as the charity was giving away an amazing £500,000 in total as part of their special celebration grants. In order to apply we had to make a short film about our proposed project which a local high school helped us out with. We had plans drawn up for 9 kennels, isolation kennel, kitchen and store room which we submitted with the film along with the application form and approximate cost for the build.

The team at Support Adoption were fantastic and very helpful, they were always on the other end of the line to guide us through our application. Making the film was fun to do and was a great idea. Over a hundred charities applied and we were over-whelmed when one day in July 2014 two representatives from Support Adoption came to the centre bearing a fabulous cheque for £50,000. It was a life changing moment for the charity and at last we were able to make our dream come true of having our own kennels.

The build started in March 2015 and is nearly complete we expect to complete our project by the end of the year. Our store room is now in full use as is the kitchen. We have prepared one kennel which is now in use a great moment for everyone at WAW.

Support Adoption has made a significant change to our charity which we will be ever grateful for. It will now enable us to help and re-home more dogs by having them on site. We would recommend Support Adoption For Pets to other charities as their generosity has helped us helped us fulfill our dream."
